A detailed customer profile...now easily accessible

You hear it all the time: if you’re going to run a business, you have to know your customer. After all, happy customers are the ones that come back! 73% of all customers point to a positive experience influencing their brand loyalties, just below price and product quality.

So how do you make your buyers feel appreciated? If you’re trying to sell an item with a customer in mind, you might ask yourself: how much are they spending on your store on average? How much have they spent in total and over how long? What kinds of products do they like?

Right now, getting answers means calculations and toggling between your orders and extra tabs or additional apps. But with Edit Order’s Customer Insights, you’ll get your customer data exactly where you need it: right where you're creating or editing your Shopify order.

Why is having customer data at hand so important?

The fast answer is customer happiness. The customers whose information you already have will play a huge role in the future of your business! The probability of selling to an existing customer is a whopping 60-70% compared to 5-20% when selling to prospects, and 80% of your future profits will rely on just 20% of your existing customers (Small Business Trends).

With so much depending on them, you can’t lose your customers’ interest by seeming uninterested in them. For that, you’ll need as much customer data as you can get.

Where can you find this customer data?

If you’ve looked for customer data in the past, your first step was probably to check these resources:

But, from experience, you know that using these resources while you edit requires flipping between open tabs, like other Shopify pages, and other apps. In Shopify, you can access the history of your customers’ purchases from their order. However, if you wanted to find out how much they’ve spent in total or the average price of their purchases, you’d need to make those calculations separately.

A compatible CRM software, like Salesforce, eliminates some of that extra calculation, but has limitations of its own. If you don’t have one yet, you’d need to research the best CRM software for your customer data. And for your existing CRM software, you’d need to sign into your account and search for the information you need in separate tabs before editing your Shopify order. This opens the door for error, and is just an extra hassle.

But what if you could have customer data and Shopify orders side by side?

With Customer Insights, you can.

This new feature eliminates the work of switching tabs and making calculations and lets you get straight to knowing your customer. Customer Insights uses data available in your Shopify store to calculate and display customer information in a clean, easy-to-scan panel.

You can now edit your order while referring to data like your customer’s AOV (average order value), which smile.io lists as one of the 11 most important customer retention metrics for your business. Here’s the full list of data that Customer Insights provides:

  • Name and email

  • AOV (average order value)

  • Total spent

  • Length of time as a customer

  • Any notes and tags

  • Previous order numbers

The best part is that all of this information is condensed into a panel on the right-hand side of your screen, while your order information is adjusted so that it all fits in one window. This way, you can use it and work at the same time! Verify your customer’s profession in Notes, see what events they’ve attended in their tags...and work on their order at the same time.

What does a more convenient customer profile mean for you?

Customer Insights is perfect for helping your sales and customer service team make well-informed decisions, giving you the upper hand when creating a custom order, cross selling, and more. Your customers will come out of their experience feeling heard and valued, and you can strengthen your working relationship to better build your business and enrich their lives!

This feature is fully up and running and available in Edit Order today for all merchants!
